Hoi An Lantern Festival 14th Each Month
The Hoi An Lantern Festival occurs every month on the 14th of the lunar month. All the restaurants, bars, businesses, and shops in Ancient Town turn of their electricity and switch to lanterns and candles. All of the temples can be entered for free, and there you will also discover ceremonies being held.
Tet Nguyen Dan — January – February (Lunar New Year)
Tet is the biggest festival this is in Vietnam with the whole family getting together from across Vietnam. Typically, it’s a religious celebration so it never gets too wild, but there’s fireworks, and you get to visit the temples with the families of the locals. If you are in Vietnam during January or February, you won’t want to miss this fabulous event that involves many Vietnamese families.
You can celebrate Tet throughout Vietnam, but Hanoi is the very best, and next to that are other larger cities are the best place to participate.
Phu Giay Festival-April
The Phu Giay Festival brings together locals that worship Phu Giay Pagoda to Godess Lieu Hanh where they spend time praying for good fortune, while they carry bamboo relics that have been decorated and wear traditional costumes. This is the only festival that the villages within Kim Thai Commune celebrate.
Hue Festival April — June Every 2 Years
This biannual celebration takes place in Hue, a UNESCO city. You can enjoy games, performances, and all kinds of cultural events. It began back in 2000 in an attempt to preserve many of the traditional customs dating back to the Nguyen Dynast. Expect to see numerous unique events that include poetry readings, drums, fashion shows, art exhibitions, film screening, and more.

Autumn Festival Sept 14-15
The Autumn Festival is held on 14th and 15th of the lunar month and there all kinds of activities for family and kids. There’s lion dances, food booths selling all kinds of local foods and sweets, paper lanterns carried by the children, arts exhibitions, and so much more. Hoi An is the best place to participate.
