The country which is known as the Socialist Republic of Vietnam is situated in the easternmost part of the Indo China peninsula. The country is known to be the 15th most populous country in the world with an estimated population of nearly 94.6 million and her western part is bordered by Laos and Cambodia, Northern part by China, Southwestern part by Thailand and the Southeastern part by Philippines, Malaysia and Indonesia. Hanoi stands to be the capital city of the country since the unification of North and South Vietnam in the year 1976. The country has been facing several interventions starting from that of Japan to the French and finally the barbaric interventions of the US government. The unification started under the leadership of Ho Chi Minh who is still believed to be one of the most influential figures of the Communist El Dorado. The Vietnam war was not confined within the walls of the country but turned out be an international issue further instigating rage among the democratic population of the world.

Various archeological excavations in the country provide an interesting history of human civilization which dates back to the Paleolithic Age. The Vietnam War stands to be one of the most crucial incidents of the country; North Vietnam received significant support from China as well as Russia in order to combat the barbaric areal bomb attacks by USA. Bauxite mining industries, Aluminum industries have also made significant contributions to the economy of the country. Education in Vietnam is mainly controlled by the state, although there are a significant number of private institutions at present, various institutions are also partially privatized.

The Dong Sun culture stands to be the base of cultural developments in Vietnam; other elements from Confucianism, Taoism and Buddhism are also included in the national culture of the country. Humanity and harmony are the key concepts of Vietnamese culture and these stands to be the primary elements of desire of the citizens of the country. The literature of the country is deep rooted in her folk literature, although at present one gets to see a blend of various styles and traditions. Northern classical music stands to be the most traditional form of music in Vietnam.
